This a 1/48 decal
sheet for the 1/48 Testors/Italeri/Hawk Lysander kit as well as the new Lysander
kit from Gavia. The printing of the decals is very crisp and clear....very
good printing quality and in perfect register. The colours look excellent. The decals appear
quite thin, so they should conform well to the surface of the model. The
instructions also warn that the modeller should be careful using any decal
setting solutions with these decals as no decal setting solutions have been
tested on these decals. My advice would be to apply the decals to the
gloss finish of the model and see if any decal setting solution is even
required. If decal setting solution is required, then please experiment on
a spare piece of decal from this sheet to make sure the solution is not
too strong for these decals. Caution is always the best approach.
Included on this 1/48 decal sheet are markings for an Egyptian, Portuguese,
British, American as well as a Turkish Lysanders. The Egyptian markings are for a
Lysander I, Y513 No. 1 Army Co-op Squadron, Royal Egyptian AF in 1940 and a
Lysander 1, GF-l No. 1 Army Co-op Squadron, Royal Egyption AF in 1941 (special
markings). The
Portuguese markings are for a Lysander IIIA, 361 Grupo de Reconhecimento e
Informacao of the Portuguese AF in 1943. The British markings are for a
Lysander TT III, T1445, K-W6-K, No. 755 Squadron, FAA in 1941-42. The
USAAF markings are for a Lysander TT III V9817, 3 Gunnery & Tow Target Flt.
8th AF March 1944 (reverse lend lease). The Turkish markings
are for a Lysander II, 3106 of the Turkish Airforce in 1939.
