Lifelike Decals is a Decal company out of Japan.  The owners have been involved in  the researching of decal sheets for other companies for many years and have a very successful decal line of their own.

This latest decal sheet features three different Fokker D.VII's.  This is Part 1 of  a series dealing with the Fokker D.VII.

This decal sheet provides a good variety of colourful paint schemes as you can see in the instruction sheets.

The first plane is a Fokker DVII flown by Lt William Leusch, Commander of Jasta 19, Stenary airfield in October 1918.  It is painted in the final unit markings for Jasta 19 with a yellow nose and a dark blue fuselage (translucent enough to see the fuselage cross through), and wings are covered in 4 colour lozenge fabric and blue/pink rib tapes.  Exact tint of yellow and dark blue is not known.  It's upper left flap is taken  from another aircraft so the paint doesn't line up.  On the side of the fuselage is a beautiful white dragon.  Lt William Leusch did score victories in this aircraft.

The second plane is a Fokker DVII with Jasta 18b from St Marguerite airfield in June/July 1918.  This aircraft has blue wheels and nose.  The tail is white with a  black cross.  The fuselage and wings are covered in a multi-shade green and sand lozenge pattern with a light blue and white diagonal checker board stripe on the side of the fuselage (included a decal) which doesn't go on the underside of the fuselage.  Interestingly....this aircraft is fitted with a gun- sight.

The third plane is a Fokker DVII flown by Lt. Franz Buchner Commander of Jasta 16b from Carignan airfield in October 1918.  This aircraft has green wheels and nose.  The tail is white with a  black cross.  The fuselage is a 2 tone blue and the wings are covered in a multi-shade green and sand lozenge pattern with a green and white checker board stripe on the side of the fuselage (included a decal) which doesn't go on the underside of the fuselage.  On the sides of the fuselage are lions heads.

The fourth plane is a Fokker DVII flown by a pilot with of Jasta 32b from Trier airfield in after Armistice.  This aircraft has green wheels.  The tail is white with a  black cross.  The fuselage and the wings are covered in a multi-shade green and sand lozenge pattern with a green horizontal stripes on the side of the fuselage (included a decal).

The quality of these decals is quite pleasing and of a high quality.  The carrier film in nicely limited around the decals.  The decals themselves are clearly printed and in perfect register with fine clear tiny stencils.  The colour of the decals appears solid enough to prevent paint showing through the decals.  Lozenge decals are not included so be prepared to mask these areas.

You can purchase these decals either directly from Lifelike Decals at fax number is +81-3-5680-6733, and e-mail is lifelike@eos.ocn.ne.jp. or from HobbyLink Japan.
