Here are some photos
of my Hellcat. The kit is the Hasegawa kit in 1/48th scale. Except for the
seat belts from Eduard, no improvement was added. This kit is very good and it's
a pleasure to build it direct from the box.

The model depicts
the aircraft assigned to the commander of the air group 15, Commander David Mc
Campbell. It was based on the USS Essex on 25 October 1944. Mc
Campbell was the best-known pilot of the American Navy, but also the top ace
with 34 air victories. On 24 October 1944, with this aircraft Mac
Campbell destroyed 9 enemy fighters and further 2 as probables.
