This was a Christmas present given to my son.
We decided not to do the Normandy Stripes, just the Olive Drab (FS34087) top & Dark Ghost Grey (FS36320) bottom. Instead of the Olive Drab, we used the Light Medium Green left over from the A-10.  After studying the kit, I had a plan to assemble & paint the fuselage then using the opening at the bottom to insert the windows & interior.

I cut the interior floor behind the 2nd bulkhead so the 2 halves can be inserted after the windows are in place.

Now I was worried about seams after assembling, but I filled the seams with Super Glue Jell during assembly, smoothing the glue out with my finger & it didn't bother the paint one bit.

I tried the drybrush technique with steel paint to similate paint peeling,I wasn't happy with the results, so I stopped leaving only a few silver streaks scattered out over the model.

At first my son wasn't to excited about the kit, but now that it has been assembled (even during assembly) it has been flown many hours in the hands of an 8 year old.
